I believe the best way to set yourself up for success when it comes to having a healthy lifestyle, is having the RIGHT person train and guide you. For me, that was Bryan. Having no previous experience in the gym, with weights, or technique - going to workout easily became intimidating and stressful. Questions like; What do I start working out? How much weight is good for me to lift? Is my form right? Am I doing this movement correctly? The list goes on and on...But one of the things I really enjoy about Bryan’s coaching is style is how easily he was able to put my mind at ease because not only is he fun and personable (which automatically allowed me to put my guard down) but he 100% knows his stuff - he’s knowledgeable and attentive. He can clearly articulate what to do, and why. He was sensitive to my abilities and knew where and how to push me without hurting myself. The result...In a matter of 2 months, I’ve gained 8 pounds of muscle (started at 125lbs, now at 133lbs). I’m not injured, not hurting, I feel great, and my according to my wife, I looked great!!! For me, it’s about reaching the goal of being healthy and strong until I’m in my senior years and the way to do that is by having a great foundation laid down for you by a great coach - that would be Bryan for me and hopefully he can help you as much as he’s helped me.

My name is Ryan Van Loo and I am currently a Division 1 volleyball player at Lewis University. Bryan was my high school volleyball team’s trainer as well as my personal trainer for two years during my collegiate career. He gave our team the tools needed to win multiple league championships, a state championship, and personally go on to win a conference championship, and NCAA Semi-Finalist. I could not have asked for a better person to develop my skills, strength, and attitude than Bryan. He created specific workouts each week that were tailored towards muscle groups I needed to strengthen or increase my stamina in for my sport. I think the attribute that sets Bryan apart from other trainers actually deals with the mental side of training. He knew when and how to push me to gain the most out of my workouts, taught me how to be mentally tough in demanding situations, and was like a brother to me in all other aspects of life. I have gained so much applicable knowledge (both physically and mentally) from Bryan that I would recommend him to anyone looking to better themselves all-around (in the weight room or out), whether you are an experienced athlete or just starting to workout.

Coach Bryan is a very motivating, patient, and inspiring coach. I love the way he explains the movement’s technique and how he used effective cues to improve your lifting performance and gymnastics skills.

During his classes you will see encouragement and laughter. You will witness his ability to make workouts not only enjoyable, but something to look forward to.

In addition to improving my technique and skills, he pushed me to heights I never thought possible. Snatches for instance weren’t my top priority because I always felt intimidated by them, but after being trained by Bryan I fell in love with snatches. In my latest accomplishment he helped me achieve my first ring muscle up which has always been one of my ultimate goals!!!

All I can say that having Bryan as your coach is a big advantage in whatever fitness goals you are looking to achieve!

Having you as a coach has made me a better athlete in more ways than I can count, and in turn a more disciplined person outside of the gym. Your attentive coaching style has helped me to be more mindful of what I am doing in the gym during workouts and to realize that I am more capable than I often think I am. You always bring a super positive energy to the gym, even during the earliest gym session, and never leave anyone feeling excluded. I think that anyone would benefit from taking a class with you and couldn’t recommend it more!

Just wanted to let people know about my great experience doing 1:1 training with Bryan Felix. I am a 52 year old female who is a former athlete who is now about 80 lbs overweight. I have had two total knee replacements and reconstruction surgery on my right ankle. Saying this should let anyone know that I have some challenges that need to be worked around to keep me safe yet provide me a good and effective training secession. Let me add that my training goal was not to lose weight but rather build strength, flexibility, and balance. I purchased a 10 session package and trained with Bryan 2 times a week. This was conducive to my schedule as I am on 3 tennis teams and play on average 4 days/week and I prefer to not train and play tennis on the same days. After six weeks of training with Bryan I had regained my “zest” for training again. I found that working out and training to be a highly effective stress relief therapy regime. I am a nurse manager who works on average 10-12 hr/day five days/week. All I do is address problems and do process improvement and quality control all while managing a busy medical/surgical unit of 80 caregivers. However, no matter how stressed out or tired I was starting my session with Bryan, I was always 100% devoid of stress and in a positive frame of mind at the end.

What I particularly like was Bryan’s adaptive technique. Upon meeting he did an overall assessment of me to understand my ability and limitations. He gave me appropriate workouts designed for me that pushed me mentally and physically without injury. The benefit of a personal training session is that he’d was completely focused on me and was able to read me well. He was encouraging and knew how to push me to push myself without being critical or negative. Not everyone is skilled at training all levels of fitness but Bryan Felix is. He known for training young athletes but I can tell you he is equally good with old out of shape people with chronic injuries. I personally am looking forward to more training with Bryan. I am stronger, more flexible, and have better court movement. Most importantly I have reduced my stress levels dramatically and I am sleeping better. Thanks Bryan for leading me on my journey back to health and fitness.

Bryan has been my CrossFit coach since 2017. My friends brought me to CrossFit but I stayed because of Bryan. The atmosphere in his classes is always fun & upbeat. He is super attentive towards everyone in class (which seems like an impossible task), correcting & encouraging us personally throughout. He knows when to use verbal & nonverbal cues to help correct form on a movement or to get us to do things we’ve been trying, or have never done before. In my time from having never done a CrossFit workout until now, Bryan has helped me achieve PRs in my Olympic & Power lifts, gymnastics moves like pull-ups, bar muscle ups, ring muscle ups & handstand push ups. Most importantly although Bryan pushes me, says things like “I know you can do it” when I doubt myself, he has never pushed me to do something which has hurt me. I have not suffered injuries on his watch, I have remained healthy & pain free throughout, which is HUGE for a CrossFitter to say. There is no way I would have persevered with CrossFit or be where I am today without Bryan’s help. Bryan is just an all around good person, honest, principled, fun, has a great sense of humor, and someone I wish everyone could have the opportunity to know.

Don’t know quite where to start. B’s patience and knowledge is only surpassed by his technical know-how.

I’ve been around trainers all my life (I’m 54) and I would say B is the best I’ve ever worked with. He developed and designed workouts specific not only to my needs, but more importantly my abilities.

I can honestly say that overall body strength definitely increased and my focus on posture and alignment has been heightened as a result of B’s attention to detail.

I couldn’t imagine having a more thoughtful and positive trainer.

Coach Bryan has been beyond helpful to me and the success I had as an athlete in both high school and college. He came in at the start of my senior year at Burroughs and was a critical part in winning state. Bryan has a “get shit done” type of coaching style but isn’t afraid to mess around every once and a while. Personally, he has helped me achieve more than I thought I could both physically and mentally. During the summer of 2017 and 2018, I was able to PR in box jumps (60”), hang cleans (235lbs), back squats (305lbs), and my 400m sprint time (0:56). The most important thing I can do now that I couldn’t do before is not being afraid of any challenge in front of me. He helped me develop a “there is no obstacle I can’t conquer” attitude and that has helped me immensely not just in sports, but also in life. If you have the opportunity to work with Bryan 1-on-1, I would highly recommend it.
